Course description
Beyond the Vindhya Mountains: An Introduction to South India (course)
This course will present a historical-cultural survey of southern India (the area that now includes the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala). During the course we will examine the rich imperial past of the southern region and its influence on the culture and architecture of the southern temples. We will also get acquainted with South India's historical contribution to the world of literature, philosophy, music and religion.
