Course description
Kafka's 1919 "Letter to his Father" is long considered a touchstone text of modernity. Oedipal and anti-oedipal readings have underscored this text's importance. In this seminar we will read a series of biographical letters sent by Hebrew writers to their fathers as well as fictional texts that can be fathomed as Oedipal.
