Course description
The Roots of Israeli Poetry: Goldberg Alterman and Others
The seminar will closely examine the turn in Hebrew poetry that took place at the end of the thirties with the simultaneous publication of central poetic works by Alterman, Goldberg and Shlonsky. At the time of the Arab Revolt and on the verge of the World War Two, Hebrew poetry develops three options that are close but different and form the basis for future developments in Israeli poetry.
