Course description
Camus and the Absurd

Albert Camus (1913-1960) was a philosopher, an author and a key figure in mid-twentieth century French culture. Born to a poor family in Algeria, Camus combined between marginality and centrality, and developed existential literature and theory different from those of the more bourgeois Sartre. In this course we will study Camus’s theory of absurd, focusing on The Stranger and The Myth of Sisyphus, both written in 1942.
