The course will allow the students an in-depth acquaintance with the tradition of medieval Hebrew wine and eros poems. We will learn the basic elements of the genres, as well as the signs of the poets’ ability to transgress these conventional elements. We will also think through the social significance of these poems, as well as their humoristic aspects.
