Course description
The Kibbutz: The Home of the Zionist Revolution, 1907-1980
The Kibbutz is one of the most revolutionary utopian ideas carried out by the Zionist movement in Palestine and Israel. During the seminar we will look at the ideas, principles, values, organizational and political systems of the Kibbutz and the Kibbutz movements, on their own and through checking their contact with the Israeli society. The seminar will focus on the dreams, successes, failures and aspirations of people as well as groups leaving in the Kibbutz, using relevant texts.
Course duties: seminar paper.
