Course description
The Homeric Hymns
The course is intended to introduce second-year students of ancient Greek to Epic poetry and Homeric dialect. During the course we shall read a selection from the Homeric Hymns in the original language and meter (dactylic hexameter) accompanied by both lingual (morphological and syntax) and literary analysis. Discussions will also refer to the poetic measures characteristic to this genre.
