Course description

Law and order in the Roman world
During this class we will get to know some of the key institutions of the Roman law and the reason of their coming into being from the foundation of the Roman Republic to its decline. After two introductory lectures we will examine major facets of the Roman law by a close reading of Cicero De Legibus.
