Course description
The course presents an introduction to the disciplinary foundations of archaeology: the essence of archaeology as a scientific discipline, the nature of archaeological data, archaeological field methods, interconnections between archaeology and other sciences, how do archaeology reconstructs the social and economic organization of ancient societies as well as their cognitive world, approaches to archaeological interpretation, trends and aims of contemporary archaeology.
