Course description

The concept of social justice has a long and distinguished history,  from the emergence of the concept of a "Social Contract" enshrining the rights of citizens within a wider social framework in the writings of enlightenment philosophers of the 17th and 18th centuries, such as Jean-Jacques Rousseau, to the modern concepts of "Social Justice" and "Environmental Justice".  The aim of the course is to explain the evolution or the social justice idea from the French Revolution to our days.
