What is "justice"? Does "justice" always mean "equality"? And how are these terms being manifested in everyday social reality? In this course we will review philosophical and sociological concepts of social justice and equality in the twentieth century, and examine them in the light of social struggles that took place in Israel over the years, in different contexts and fields - economic, gender, ethnic, generations and more. We will examine different perceptions of equitable and just distribution and allocation of resources, discuss the conflicts and dilemmas arising from them, and study their translation into social protests in Israel.
