Course description

In this seminar we will investigate research methods used to study the spoken and the written Israeli Hebrew in a theoretical and a practical manner.
During the first semester, we will focus on various issues including the formulation of a database using an authentic corpus or methods of elicitation, sociolinguistic investigation, issues of representation and validity of the findings, and more. We will give special attention to the challenge of planning scientific research. In the second semester, students will conduct research themselves. 
 Course requirements: class attendance and active participation, weekly assignments, class presentation, seminar or reperat.
