The course discusses the types of biblical leadership attested in Ancient Israel: judges, prophets, kings and the elders. The course focuses on a selection of leaders, among whom are Samson, Moses, Joshua, Jeremiah, Deborah, Miriam, and several kings (including one queen) as well. We will explore central events in the lives of these leaders, and pay special attention to political conflicts occurring between the leaders and the people.
