Course description
Qualitative research methods gain growing importance within the study of the social world. Feminist theories contributed substantially to the development of these methods and to the theoretical and moral debates surrounding them. This course course provides introduction to basic research tools such as interview, observation and text analysis. In addition, the course deals with the relation between feminist theories and methodology. It looks into the questions of choosing the research question, the studied population, research methods, power relations between the researcher and the informants, interpretation and validity. The examples provided throughout the course are feminist studies from Israel and other countries that use qualitative methodology.

Course requirements: regular attendance, active participation, and submission of interim assignments on time as a prerequisite for the submission of the final assignment (100%).
