The course examines feminisms and women’s movements in the Middle East from the late 19 century up today. It suggests socio-historical analysis to the different types of feminisms that emerged in this part of the world and the contexts in which they emerged and developed; scrutinizes the issues and dilemmas they dealt with, their strategies and discourses.
