Introduction (definitions, requirements, strategies, type of replacements, historical review), Review of major physiological systems, Basic concepts in mechanics of materials, Structure of biological tissues, Human joints (shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, ankle), Total replacement of the knee and hip joints, Osseointegrated implants and bone replacements, Upper and lower limb prostheses, Respiratory assist devices, Neural implants, Eye prosthetic devices, Urologic prosthetic devices, Cosmetic implants.
