Prerequisite : introduction to Electrical Circuits and Systems
Introduction to Mechatronics. Examples of using microprocessors and microcontrollers. Architecture of microcomputers for real time applications. Micro controller assembly language. Real time systems emulation. Interfacing devices to real time systems. Polling vs. interrupts I/O. Integrating sensors and actuators. Design of integrated systems. Examples of existing systems including mechanical systems, mechanical processes, heat transfer and flow problems.
Lab exercises with microcontroller, assembly language programming and interfacing of mechanical systems.
