Prerequisites: Fluid Mechanics (1), Heat Transfer
The lab will use commercial software packages such as FIDAP.
Pre-processing: generation of body-fitted coordinates, grid quality control. Construction of numerical model of engineering problems, interactive definition of the problem. Simulations: selection of numerical parameters, stability conditions, tools for monitoring the solution process. Test cases: flow in a channel, flow over bluff bodies including vortex-shedding, flow over aerodynamic airfoils, time-dependent flows and flows with moving boundaries. Post-processing: convergence test, validation and evaluation of the solution, visualization of the results, presentation of the results. Final project.
