Prerequisites: Fluid mechanics (1).
Small amplitude water waves. Engineering wave properties: refraction, breaking reflection and diffraction. Wind waves: their statistics and spectra. Nonlinear waves: radiation stresses, wave-induced currents. Wavemaker theory and harbor resonance. Interaction between waves and structures. Sediment transport, thermal pollution, dispersion and mixing processes in the ocean.
