Course description
Introduction to Optical Design using Zemax
Imaging with perfect lens. Aberration analysis. Apertures and stops. System resolution: single step approximation, MTF, PSF and LSF. Optical system types: Microscope, telescope and infinite conjugate systems. Aberration correction and famous designs. Optimization. Opto-mechanics and optical manufacturing. Optical tolerance analysis. Optical and mechanical coatings. Fourier analysis of microscopes. Advanced subjects.
