Electrostatics: Coulomb's Law, the electric field, Gauss' Law. Vector calculus. Electrostatic potential and potential energy. Electrical properties of materials; capacitors and dielectrics. DC circuits. The magnetic field: currents and charges in magnetic fields; Biot-Savart Law and Ampère's Law. Faraday's Law of Induction. Magnetic properties of matter. Inductance. Displacement current, Maxwell's Equations in integral and differential form. Electromagnetic waves (ch. 38-39)
