Course description

A workshop on electronic voting

In the workshop we we will design and implement a simple  zero-knowledge mixing network, that can serve in a cryptographically secure electronic voting system.  The mixnet will be based upon a Benesh network to reduce the problem of mixing n messages to that problem of mixing just two, which is then solved used standard tools. Possible projects include:

1. Designing and implementing the prover

2. Designing and implementing the verifier

3. Studying the Benes network

No prior knowledge in cryptography is required. We will give the necessary background on cryptographic voting, public key encryption (DLOG, El-gammal) and zero-knowledge proofs.
