Course description
Debates in contemporary planning theory
The course focuses on the current debates and central dilemmas that shape the planning discourse. The course includes the following themes:
- Slums etc.
- Assemblage and critical urbanism,
- Gentrification,
- Planning for the unexpected, disaster, conflicts etc.
- The market as the new emperor,
- The Urban Question/introduction
- Conceptual Challenges.
Requirements: reading and participation in classes (30%), paper submission (70%).
