Course description

 

CONCEPT FOR LECTURES ABOUT RADIATION DETECTORS AT HIGH ENERGIES

Modern instrumentation used in experiments of Nuclear, Astro-particle and Particle Physics and application in Medicine and material sciences will be the subject of these lectures. The basics for detection and measurement of charged and neutral particles, electromagnetic and hadronic showers and neutrinos will be covered. Special emphasis will be devoted to examples of currently used or planned detectors. Examples of application in Medicine and Material Sciences will be presented.

Lecture 6: Scintillators, Cerenkov Radiators and Photodetectors.

Lecture 7: Solid State Detectors.

Lecture 8: Calorimeters.

Lecture 9: Complex Detectors, Examples of currently used or planned detectors.
