הקורס מוקדש ללימוד המוזיקה של המלחין הדגול איגור סטרווינסקי בקונטקסט ההיסטורי והסגנוני של המאה ה-20. יצירות המלחין מתחלקת לשלוש תקופות שונות בסגנונן: התקופה הרוסית, התקופה הניאו-קלאסית והתקופה המודרנית.
The course deals with the music of the great composer Igor Stravinsky in the historical and stylistical context of the XX-th century. The traditions of Russian music and the new usage of the Russian folklore made Stravinsky one of the outstanding innovators of modern music.

הקורס מוקדש ללימוד המוזיקה של המלחין הדגול איגור סטרווינסקי בקונטקסט ההיסטורי והסגנוני של המאה ה-20. יצירות המלחין מתחלקת לשלוש תקופות שונות בסגנונן: התקופה הרוסית, התקופה הניאו-קלאסית והתקופה המודרנית.
הקורס יתמקד בז'אנרים שונים (באלט, אופרה, מוזיקה אינסטרומנטאלית ומוזיקה דתית) מבחינת האבולוציה של הסגנון.
דגש מיוחד יושם על האספקטים הבאים:
הפולקלור הרוסי ומאפייניו במוזיקה של סטרווינסקי;
Ballets Russes ודיאגילב;
אופרה באלט כסינתזה בין הג'אנרים;
סטרווינסקי כמלחין הניאו-קלאסי הראשון;
סטרווינסקי וצ'ייקובסקי;
במבט למזרח.
האלמנטים המסורתיים במוזיקה הרוסית, מצד אחד וגישה חדשה לחלוטין לפולקלור הרוסי, מצד שני, הפכו את סטרווינסקי לאחד המהפכנים של המוזיקה המודרנית.
Stravinsky and His World
The course deals with the music of the great composer Igor Stravinsky in the historical and stylistical context of the XX-th century. The traditions of Russian music and the new usage of the Russian folklore made Stravinsky one of the outstanding innovators of modern music.
There are three different periods in Stravinsky’s creative life: Russian, Neoclassical and Modern. The course will focus on all genres (opera, ballet, instrumental and sacred music) regarding the evolution of style.
Special emphasis will be put on the following aspects:
Russian folklore and its features in the music of Stravinsky;
Ballets Russes and Diaghilev;
Problem of synthesis of genres;
Stravinsky as a first neoclassical composer;
The Eastern theme in Stravinsky’s music.
