At the beginning of the 21^st century, many philosophers and theologians seek to add Islam to the Jewish-Christian dialogue - not just on the practical, but also on the theoretical level. How should that be done, especially in the face of the many critiques of the “Abrahamic” idea?

In this seminar we will study the development and the criticism of these new concepts and evaluate the arguments in favor of dialogue and against “unity”. Is the model of “pluralism” appropriate for religions, or is it better to apply the philosophical language of the “Other’? We will evaluate the advantages as well as the limitations of the Jewish-Christian-Muslim “trialogue”.
