The exercise will string along with the lesson, in order to memorize and internalize the learnt theoretical terms and principles. The small-group exercises will allow us to practice patiently close-readings in poetry. The poetic texts that we will read, the discussions on which and the papers we will be writing during the course, will provide the students the basic skills for the study of poetry: How do we begin reading a poem? How do we write about it?

Course obligations: an active presence and participation during the lessons, an oral exam and two short written assignments.
