מטרת הקורס: לרכוש כלים להבנת התהליכים הכימיים פיזיקליים בקרקע בכלל ובקרקעות ישראל בפרט תוך שימת דגש על יחסי הגומלין בין הסביבה הטבעית ו והסביבה המשתנה.דרישות מוקדמות: רצוי הקורס ב"קרקעות ישראל". רקע כימי פיזיקלי עשוי להועיל . נושאי הלימוד המרכזיים: הקרקע כגוף טבעי וכאוצר טבע, תפזורת קרקעות בישראל, שימושי קרקע, שלושת הפאזות בקרקע ותגובתן עם הסביבה, הרכב מינרלוגי והשפעתו על תכונות קרקע, הקרקע כמערכת כימית קולואידלית ופיזיקלית, תמיסת הקרקע, תגובת הקרקע לחומרים שונים, בעיות חקלאיות וסביבתיות, מליחות הקרקע, דעיכת קרקעות איטום וזיהום קרקע ומים, טיוב קרקעות.
Course description
The aim of the course is to provide students with tools to understand physical and chemical processes in soil in general and in Israel's soil in particular. Special emphasis will be given to the relationship of the natural and changing environment with the soil's phases (solid, liquid and gas).
The major subjects covered: soil as a natural and treasured body, the soil of Israel and its use during the past two decades, the three soil phases and theirs interaction with the environment, mineralogical composition and its effect on soil properties, soil as a colloidal system, soil solution, soil reactions with different material, agricultural problem, soil salinity, soil degradation, soil sealing and contamination, soil rehabilitation; the electrical double layer and the possible interaction of clay components with the soil solution.
A field trip to demonstrate environmental issues related to soil will take place during the course.
