במסגרת הלימודים המעשיים בתרגום, סדנה זאת נועדה להקנות ולפתח את מיומנויות התרגום באמצעות התמקדות בעריכת הטקסט המתורגם. הדגש אינו על לשון המקור (שתהיה על-פי רוב אנגלית; ידיעת שפות נוספות רצויה, אך אינה הכרחית) ולא על שפת היעד ("עריכת לשון"), אלא על "הדבר השלישי", הנוסף, שהוא מלאכת התרגום. באמצעות שורה של טקסטים במגוון של נושאים, סגנונות וז'אנרים נדון בבעיות האופייניות לטקסט המתורגם ולעריכתו. אופן הלימוד יהיה בראש ובראשונה מעשי – מדי שיעור נעבוד על טקסט אחר – ובהקשר זה יידונו גם נושאים תיאורטיים בתורת התרגום.
Course description
This workshop aims at enhancing translation skills by concentrating on revising already-translated texts. The emphasis is neither on the source language (which will usually be English; reading comprehension in other languages is recommended but not required), nor on the target language (i.e. Hebrew), but on "the third element", which is translating skills. Using a series of texts in a wide range of genres, styles and subjects, we shall discuss the typical problems of translated texts and their revising. The study will be practically oriented – dealing with a different text every session – while, in this context, theoretical issues in translation studies will be considered as well.
