קורס זה יציג מבחר מן המהלכים התיאורטיים החשובים והמשפיעים בחקר הספרות בעשור האחרון: נעסוק במעבר מ"ספרות השוואתית" ל"ספרות עולם", בפיתוחים של התיאוריה הפוסט-קולניאלית ובביקורת החילוניות, בתהיות אודות חלותו של המרחב האסתטי, בתיאוריה קווירית עכשווית ובתורת האפקט. ננסה לעמוד על עיקריו של כל מהלך תיאורטי, על המוטיבציות המחקריות שבבסיסו ועל האופנים שבהם ביכולתו לשנות את מערך הקריאה. העיון בכתבים התיאורטים ילווה בקריאה של יצירות ספרות.
Course description
Contemporary Literary Theories
This course will introduce some of the important and influential trajectories in the literary theory of the last decade. We will discuss the shift from Comparative Literature to World Literature, the developments in postcolonial theory and the critique of secularism, contemporary queer theory and affect theory. The course will present each theoretical trajectory, the scholarly motivations behind it, and the ways in which it might change the procedures of literary reading. Together with theoretical writings we will also read literary texts
