D:\Inetpub\shared\yedion\syllabus\06\2014\0680\0680324501_desc.txt סילבוס מקוצר הקורס ידון בצורות השונות של הכתיבה האוטוביוגרפית בצרפת דרך שני מקרי-בוחן, רוסו וסארטר, תוך דגש על העיסוק בילדות. רוסו של הווידויים מהווה מעין נקודת התחלה של האוטוביוגרפיה בצרפת, דגם ראשוני אשר הפך לקאנון של הסוגה בצרפת. האוטוביוגרפיה הפכה לסוגה חשובה ביותר במאה ה-20, שבה פרחו סוגים רבים של הז'אנר. הקורס ייבחן דוגמה בולטת אחת מבין האוטוביוגרפיות השונות במאה ה-20: המילים מאת סארטר, ויעמוד על האנלוגיות ועל ההבדלים בין המילים והווידויים של רוסו. הקריאה הצמודה במילים של סארטר תתבסס מצד אחד על יצירותיו האחרות ויעסוק מצד שני על ההשוואה עם אוטוביוגרפיות אחרות במאה ה-20, כמו W מאת פרק, או ילדות מאת סרוט, וזאת תוך בחינה מחודשת במקור של רוסו. דרך גישה זו, נבקש להגיע לתובנות חדשות אודות דמות הילד והילדות בכלל. Course description The class examines the different forms of autobiographical writing in France through two major examples: Rousseau and Sartre. We will focus on childhood in autobiography. Rousseau's Confessions constitutes a starting-point of Autobiography in France, a first model which became canonical. Autobiography became an important literary genre in the 20th century, where it flourished in many ways. We will study about an outstanding example of Autobiography in the 20th century: Sartre's Words. First, we will explore the analogies and the differences between The Words and The Confessions. The close reading of Sartre's Words will be based, on one hand, on Sartre's other works, and, on the other hand, on other major French cases of contemporary autobiographies, like Perec's W and Sarraute's Childhood. This approach will allow us to grasp anew the figure of the child and the notion of childhood in general.
