מאז המאה ה-18 ואל תוך המאה ה-21, מניפסטים מלווים תנועות חברתיות ופוליטיות וקבוצות ספרות ואמנות בניסיונן לקרוא תיגר על מצב עניינים קיים ולהציע דרכים חדשות. בקורסנבחן ציוני דרך בהתהוות המניפסט כז'אנר – מהצהרת זכויות האדם והאזרח בצרפת והמניפסט הקומוניסטי, דרך מניפסטים של המודרניזם והאוונגרד ההיסטורי ועד מניפסטים טכנולוגיים ודיגיטליים עכשוויים. נקרא גם במבחר מניפסטים עבריים. הטקסטים ימחישו את גלגוליו של הז'אנר לאורך הזמן, את הדינאמיות שלו ואת גבולותיו, את עוצמתו ואת חולשותיו. נבחן את המניפסט כז'אנר שנע על קו התפר בין מחשבה לפעולה, בין תיאוריה לפרקטיקה, בין מעשה פוליטי הצהרתי לבין יצירה ספרותית.
Course description
Since the 18th century until today, manifestos have served social and political movements as well as literary and artistic groups in their attempt to challenge the status quo and offer new directions. In the course we will observe landmarks in the history of the manifesto as a genre – starting with the Declaration of Rights of Man and Citizen in France and the Communist Manifesto, through manifestos of the historical modernism and avant-garde, and ending with recent technological and digital manifestos, also including Hebrew manifestos. We will examine the manifesto as a genre that occupies a unique position between thought and deed, theory and practice, political declarative action and literature.
