Intellectual Property and the Pharmaceutical Industry – Mr. Tal Band

The course will focus on various aspects that pertain to the pharmaceutical industry and to the pharmaceutical market in Israel.  Many of these aspects are in the patent law arena while others relate to regulatory requirements and limitations and to the laws that regulate the approval of pharmaceuticals and their marketing.

Particular attention will be given to patent law.  Other issues will also be discussed including: regulation of drug approval in Israel; innovative versus generic drugs; Data Exclusivity; parallel import of pharmaceuticals; limitation on marketing and advertising of pharmaceuticals and the like.
