Prerequisite: Economics for Business Administration

The course is constructed as follows: introduction – macro-economics, the Israeli economy, the relationship between macro-economics and managerial decision making, the main players in the economy – consumers, firms, government, market structure; defining and measuring national product; development of the main aggregates of the Israeli economy over time; national income, capitalization report; a simple Keynesian model; a Keynesian model including government and international trade; fiscal policy and its implications for the management of firms; exports, imports, the exchange rate and Israel’s external debt; economic policy and its significance for the economy as a whole and the manager in particular; Israel and the Middle East – a comparison and its significance; the money market; the banks in Israel, financial assets in Israel; equilibrium in the money market and the product market; fiscal policy and monetary policy in Israel; the production side – the production function, unemployment, full employment in the long term, wages and prices; general equilibrium in the economy; inflation and unemployment; government policy and forecasting of the main variables in the Israeli economy – and the significance for the manager.

Holder’s of a degree in economics are not allowed to take this course.

בקורס יידונו הנושאים האלה: מבוא - מאקרו-כלכלה, המשק הישראלי, הקשר בין מאקרו כלכלה וקבלת החלטות ניהולית, השחקנים העיקריים במשק: צרכנים, פירמות, ממשלה, מבנה השוק; הגדרת ומדידת התוצר; התפתחות האגרגטים העיקריים של המשק הישראלי על פני זמן; הכנסה לאומית, דוח הווי הון; מודל קינסיאני פשוט; מודל קינסיאני כולל ממשלה ומסחר בינלאומי, מדיניות פיסקלית והשלכותיה על ניהול חברות; היצוא, היבוא, שע"ח והחוב החיצוני של ישראל; מדיניות כלכלית ומשמעותה עבור המשק בכלל והמנהל בפרט; ישראל והמזרח התיכון - השוואה ומשמעויותיה; שוק הכסף; הבנקים בישראל, נכסים פיננסיים בישראל; שיווי משקל בשוק הכסף ושוק המוצרים; מדיניות פיסקלית ומוניטרית בישראל; צד הייצור: פונקצית הייצור, אבטלה, תעסוקה מלאה בטווח הארוך, שכר ומחירים; שיווי משקל כללי במשק; אינפלציה ואבטלה; מדיניות ממשלתית וחיזוי של משתנים עיקריים במשק הישראלי - והמשמעות למנהל.
