The course deals with the political and social aspects of public policy. The political and social context of the policy process will be resolved by discussing the processes of the agenda formulation, design of policy instruments, implementation of the policy and its evaluation. The contribution of institutional contexts and social characterization and socialization will be discussed as well. Furthermore, we will discuss the implications of these policy processes characteristics on the performance and roles of professionals in the field of public policy.
