Description of the social, historical and cultural background that led to the development of museums from ancient times to the present. The historical and architectural reviews of the major museums in the Western World will study museums as institutions that reflect and construct their surrounding society and cultures.

הקורס יעסוק בארגון וניהול המוזיאון, תוך בחינת תפקידו של המנהל, חבר הנאמנים, צוות העובדים, והמתנדבים. בין הנושאים שייבחנו: סקירת מודלים של קבלת החלטות במינהל, תכנון אסטרטגי, שיטות תקציב, מבנה ארגוני, גיוס תרומות, שיווק ופרסום.
This course explores the organization, governance and management of museums. The course will examine the role of the museum president, board of directors, staff and volunteers. The topics addressed will include strategic planning, organizational structure and development, fundraising, marketing, evaluation and museum finances.
