תיאור הסמינר:

הדיון הביקורתי במגדר ובמיניות הוא אחד משדות המחקר המובילים בלימודי הקולנוע בפרט והתרבות בכלל. הסמינר יעסוק במתודות הפרשניות ובהתפתחות התיאורטית של שדה מחקרי זה, והוא מחולק לשני חלקים מרכזיים: בחלק הראשון נדון בתיאוריות הפמיניסטיות הקולנועיות פוסט-לורה מאלווי, שניסו לחשוב מחדש על זהות, הזדהות וצפייה נשית וגברית בקולנוע. בחלק זה נחקור את הנושאים: פנטזיה, גוף והזדהות במלודרמה ובסרטי אימה, הקול הנשי והמראה האקוסטית, קולנוע נשים. בחלק השני של הסמינר נעסוק במפנה הקווירי בקולנוע ובתרבות ובהחלפת המושג "אישה" ו"גבר" לטובת המושגים מגדר, מין וביקורת ההטרוסקסואליות. בחלק זה נחקור את הנושאים: פרפורמטיביות ומגדר, טמפורליות קווירית, קוויר אנטי-חברתי, הומוחברתיות, הומולאומיות והארון, ופוסט משפחה ופוסט פמיניזם. נצפה ונדון בסרטים באורך מלא ובקטעים מתוך "ליל המסכות" של ג'ון קרפנטר, "מזימות בינלאומיות" של אלפרד היצ'קוק, "הנוסע השמיני" של רידלי סקוט, "לא רואים עליך" של מיכל אביעד, "עקבים גבוהים" של פדרו אלמודובר, "יומנה של בריג'יט ג'ונס" של שרון מקוויר, "פריס בוערת" של ג'ני לווינגסטון, "נגוע" ו"חסד מופלא" של עמוס גוטמן, ו"בנים אינם בוכים" של קימברלי פירס, "הכול אודות חווה" של ג'וזף ל. מנקבייץ', ועוד. הסמינר מחייב קריאה בתיאוריה פמיניסטיות קולנועיות, ובתיאוריות קוויריות של חוקרים וחוקרות כמו קאז'ה סילברמן, ברברה קריד, לינדה וויליאמס, קרול קלובר, ג'ודית באטלר, אליזבת קואי, ג'ודית הלברסטאם, ליאו ברסני, לי אדלמן, ואחרים/אחרות.

Feminism, Gender, Queer: Theory and Film

The seminar will critically examine issues of gender and sexuality in cinema from post-Laura Mulvey psychoanalytic feminist film theory, the women’s cinema debates, to contemporary queer theory, exploring topics such as gender and the body in modern horror films, the female voice and the “acoustic mirror,” fantasy and the mise-en-scène of desire, theories women’s cinema, queer temporality, gender performativity, and queer anti-sociality, viewing films such as North by Northwest, Boys don’t Cry, High Heels, Alien, Paris is Burning, Finding Nemo, and many others.
