תאור הקורס  

הטלוויזיה הבריטית, מאז הקמתה, מהווה מודל לארגוני שידור ברחבי העולם. בקורס זה תבחנה - בעזרת הרצאות פרונטליות, מאמרים והקרנת דוגמאות - התפתחות הטלוויזיה הבריטית והשפעת המודל הבריטי על מדינות אחרות (במיוחד ישראל). עיקר הקורס יוקדש לתכנים של הטלוויזיה הנחשבת לטובה בעולם תוך בחינת ז'אנרים/פורמטים בעבר ובהווה בניהם: שעשועונים (מהעבר, דרך ההצלחה הבינלאומית של "מי רוצה להיות מיליונר?" ועד השעשועונים האינטלקטואליים והסאטיריים של הבי.בי.סי.), סדרות דרמה (כמו "שרלוק" "אחוזת דאונטאון" וסדרות מצליחות מהשנים האחרונות), קומדיות מצבים (מ"עד שהמוות יפריד בינינו" ועד הסיטקומים העכשוויים) ותוכניות סאטירה (תוך הדגשת "הקרקס המעופף של מונטי פייטון) ועוד.

British television was and continues to provide a model to television around the world. This course will examine the evolution of British television over the years from the early days of BBC to the digital age. The course will mainly look at the contents of British Television including quiz shows, drama series, situation comedies and satire programmes.
