Directing Actors Workshop

This comprehensive workshop aims at providing directors with the experience, the know-how and the necessary confidence for working with actors, thereby promoting and strengthening their skills as directors.

Students will acquire tools and techniques for working with professional actors, fostering spontaneity and creativity by using methods of trial and error. We will analyze and formulate insights pertaining to the practical work with actors. We will discuss the basic principles of directing actors according to popular theories and systems.

During our sessions, we will discuss character building, costumes and props, trust and intimacy between actors, physical and psychological actions, conflict and body language, as well as other aspects relevant to our practical work with actors
