The main purpose of the course is acquainting the students with methods of reading and writing of academic texts such as: Understanding the structure of an article, identifying its principle argument, ways of applying a theory on a film, creating a hermeneutical synthesis between different texts, how to build a bibliography etc.

The course will have two parts: in the first part will be frontal class and will include small examinations of the reading material and small writing tasks. The second part will be conducted as a work shop where students will present the initial stages of their work.
