The Course will explore the development of the cinema from its first appearance until the incorporation of sound. We will map its main orientations and schools, the evolution of storytelling, the link between cinema and other arts and between cinema and the social and cultural surroundings of its creating. We will do so partly by analyzing known masterpieces within the discussed era.
