תכנית דו- שנתית של הקרנות סרטים המציגה בפני הסטודנטים יצירות ויוצרי קולנוע מרכזיים מרחבי העולם. מטרת הקורס הינה לספק לסטודנטים היכרות עם פרקים מרכזיים בתולדות הקולנוע באמצעות צפייה בסרטי מופת. ההקרנות ילוו בהרצאת פתיחה קצרה אשר תמקם כל סרט בהקשרו התרבותי, ההיסטורי והאסתטי. הקורס יעמוד על הקשרים וההשפעות בין העבר של הקולנוע להווה שלו, בין הקולנוע האמנותי ומסחרי ובין יוצרים מתקופות וממדינות שונות.
Course description
The two year course introduces to the students key films and filmmakers in world film history. The screening of each film will be accompanied by a short introductory lecture that places the films in their historical, aesthetic and cultural context. The course will explore the connections and influences between film past and present, artistic and commercial cinemas as well as between different national filmmakers.
