תיאור הקורס

לימוד מתקדם של ניצוח מקהלה, העמקת השליטה בטכניקות ניצוח שונות, עבודה על רפרטואר מקהלתי מגוון תוך מתן דגש על שיטות עבודה עם מקהלה. לימוד הדרכים לשיפור הביצוע הווקלי והמוסיקלי לרבות אינטונציה, אחידות, דיקציה ושירה בסגנונות שונים. ניצוח על תלמידי הקורס שישמשו כמקהלה, ועל פסנתר שישמש כתזמורת.

דרישות הקורס

- נוכחות בכל השיעורים.

- שירה ונגינה בפסנתר של כל הרפרטואר הנלמד.

- הכנת החומר הנלמד וידיעתו על בוריו לצורך ניצוח על המקהלה של התלמידים בשיעור.

- בחינה מסכמת בסוף השנה.

50% על סמך מבחן ו-50% על סמך ציון המורה

Course description

The course will develop advanced skills of choral conducting. The course will be held in the format of a workshop. Work will take place in small groups (4-5 students) to ensure maximum attention to every student and his individual needs. Topics to be addressed will include advanced choral techniques, interpretation of advanced choral works, issues of diction, style and rehearsal management.

Course requirements

Class attendance and active participation.

Ability to sing and play all choral parts on the piano.

Conducting the class choral ensemble.

Final examination.

Course topics

1. Conducting choir vs. conducting orchestra – comparative review.
2. Combining choir with orchestra.
3. Conducting soloists with orchestra and choir.
4. Romantic a-cappella choral works – interpretive and technical advanced issues. 
5. 20^th century a-cappella music - interpretive and technical advanced issues. 
6. Israeli and contemporary choral music – introduction, interpretive and technical advanced issues.
7. Active preparation of the BMSM oratorio choir productions.

Expected learning outcomes

Students will develop high level conducting technique, rehearsal management and technique and in-depth musical understanding of style, intonation and vocal capabilities of the choir. Students will be introduced to diverse choral repertoire from different genres and eras and will be able to address specific challenges of each of the above. In addition, students will gain practical experience in preparing and conducting the BMSM choir.
