תיאור הקורס

לימוד יסודות ניצוח המקהלה, הקניית טכניקות ניצוח שונות, עבודה על רפרטואר מקהלתי מגוון תוך מתן דגש על שיטות עבודה עם מקהלה. לימוד הדרכים לשיפור הביצוע הווקלי והמוסיקלי לרבות אינטונציה, אחידות, דיקציה ושירה בסגנונות שונים. ניצוח על תלמידי הקורס שישמשו כמקהלה, ועל פסנתר שישמש כתזמורת.

דרישות הקורס

- נוכחות בכל השיעורים

- שירה ונגינה בפסנתר של כל הרפרטואר הנלמד

- הכנת החומר הנלמד וידיעתו על בוריו לצורך ניצוח על המקהלה של התלמידים בשיעור

- בחינה מסכמת בכל סמסטר

מרכיבי הציון

השתתפות פעילה בשיעורים – 30%

שליטה בחומר הנלמד בשיעורים – 30%

ציון במבחנים מסכמים – 40%

Lesson & Exercise: 4 credits

Course description

The course will develop fundamental skills in choral conducting for both conducting and composition students. Studies will be held in groups where students will conduct their peers.

Topics to be addressed will include technique, repertoire, diction, style and rehearsal management.

Singing and playing the choral parts on the piano

Conducting in the class choir

Midterm and Final examination

Final grade

Active participation -   30%

In class performance -   30%

Midterm and final examinations -   40%

Course topics

1. Basic choral conducting techniques.
2. Implementing basic techniques on monophonic 4- part Chorales (Bach).
3. Monophonic and polyphonic music - preparation, interpretation and voice cueing.
4. Style, phrasing and balancing issues.
5. Polyphonic music – shaping of principal/secondary themes; intonation, color and macro structure.
6. Antiphonal music and textures.

Expected learning outcomes

Students will gain the following skills:

1. Control of basic conducting patterns.
2. Conducting the class in simple 4-part chorales.
3. Conducting the class in 4-part basic polyphony.
4. Building phrases in various styles and periods.
5. Interpreting and conducting motets by Lotti, Victoria and Lasso with the class choir.
6. Conducting two choirs in antiphonal music.
