Orchestra conducting basics provides a general introduction to the work of the conductor and the basic skills required, including: preparation of the repertoire, the interpretative process, acquisition of fundamental conducting skills, and the interaction between conductor and orchestra. This is a practical course in which the student will be required to prepare and perform selected works from the standard orchestral repertoire.
