אורנמנטיקה בבארוק – חוקים ומסורות.

מטלות הקורס וחובות התלמידים

השתתפות פעילה בשיעורים, היכרות עם סגנון הבארוק והתמודדות מעשית עם סוגיות ביצוע בסגנונות שונים ובתקופות שונות, אורנמנטיקה בבארוק, פונטיקה ועוד.

מטלת סוף הקורס

השתתפות בקונצרט הסיכום וכתיבת עבודה.

שקלול הציון השנתי

מבוסס על השתתפות פעילה (% 70), ועבודה על הרפרטואר האישי המבוצע (% 30 ).

תלמידים מתחומי בצוע שאינם יכולים לשיר או ללוות בפסנתר – יכתבו עבודה על נושא רלוונטי, בהתייעצות עם המרצה.

Lesson & Exercise: 4 Credits

Course description

The Oratorio class will combine a vocal workshop –performance of selected oratorio repertoire with systematic introduction to the related styles, composers, issues of interpretation and performance-practices – "Modern" and "Authentic" alike, performing the major repertoire of the Baroque Oratorio (Pergolesi, Vivaldi, Bach, Handel) as well as Romantic and contemporary Oratorio (Brahms, Britten, Penderecky). Issues of Ornamentations will be extensively discussed,  practiced and performed according to period articles and modern research.

Course requirements

Each student is required to prepare at least 5 arias for public coaching from the oratorio repertoire each semester, as well as to participate in a final concert at the end of the academic year.

Course topics

The course will focus on a comparative study of chosen arias from works of similar texts by various composers, such as:

"Stabat Mater" – Pergolesi, Vivaldi, Rossini, Hayden, Dvorak, Arvo Pärt;

Magnificat" – Vivaldi (2 versions), J.S. Bach;

"Requiem" – Mozart, Verdi, Penderezky, Brahms, Fauré, Britten.
