מטלת סוף קורס

עם סיום כל סמסטר מתקיים קונצרט פתוח לקהל ובו מופיעים התלמידים ברפרטואר שנלמד במשך הקורס.

מרכיבי הציון הסופי

הציון מורכב מהאלמנטים הבאים: רמת הביצוע, הבנת המוזיקה והטקסט, היכולת להסתגל ולהקשיב, הבנה סגנונית, חוש טבעי (אם הוא קיים) למקצוע הליווי, שיתוף הפעולה עם המבצע השני, חריצות, אמביציה, רצון ללמוד ולהוסיף מעבר לתכנית החובה, יצירתיות.

סילבוס

הקורס נועד לפסנתרנים וזמרים. הרפרטואר לקוח ממבחר הספרות הווקאלית. המלחינים והרפרטואר ייבחרו מראש והמשתתפים יכינו את הרפרטואר עד לרמה של ביצוע. מטרת הקורס היא ללמד את הפסנתרנים כיצד ללוות זמרים , על כל הכרוך בכך, ולהנחות את הפסנתרנים כיצד הם עצמם יוכלו להנחות זמרים בבוא היום. לזמרים - כיצד להתייחס לליווי, תוך מודעות לאספקטים המלודיים, ההרמוניים והמוטיביים המופיעים בתפקיד הפסנתר. המשתתפים יחולקו לצוותים וכל צוות יקבל את הרפרטואר שעליו להכין במשך הסמסטר. הצוותים יקיימו חזרות בינם לבין עצמם ויבצעו את אשר הכינו בפני שאר הכיתה. השיעור מתנהל בצורת כיתת אמן.

ביבליוגרפיה וחומר עזר

החומר המוזיקלי הנלמד, וכן המלצות לקריאה משלימה של ספרות הקשורה לשירים, ביוגרפיות ותרגומים יפורסמו בהמשך.

Course Description

The course is a mandatory workshop for singers and pianists alike. It introduces the art of vocal accompaniment through an in-depth survey of the Lied repertoire and guided practical training in the interpretation and performance of the standard vocal repertoire (mainly Lieder).

Course requirements

Full attendance, active participation in lessons, performance in two final concerts at the end of each semester.

Course Topics

The course is held in the format of a workshop, where pianists and vocalists are teamed-up for the interpretation and performance of the core repertoire in the vocal literature. The students are required to prepare the repertoire for public coaching (in a form of a master class) and further perfect it to a proper level of performance.

The main topics for pianists

• The practical fundamentals of vocal accompaniment;
• The basic practices of vocal coaching;
• Sight-reading and transpositions;
• Breathing together with the singers.

The main topics for singers

• How to relate to the piano parts;
• How to develop awareness to the melodic and harmonic aspects of the piano part.

For both pianists and singers

• Integration of text and music;
• Schools, currents and styles in vocal repertoire;
• The German Lied, the French Melodie, the Russian Romance – development of stylistic awareness and its implementation in performance practice.

Course grade

The grade is comprised of the following components:

• Level of performance in class and in concerts;
• Understanding of music and the text of compositions studied and performed;
• The ability to listen and follow one`s partner;
• Understanding of style;
• Diligence, ambition, will to learn and do above and beyond the course formal requirements;
• Creativity and originality in interpretation of studied repertoire.

Expected learning outcomes

The piano students will acquire the basic skills of accompanying singers in the basic vocal repertoire; while the vocal students will earn practical training in working together with piano accompanists. Both groups will gain practical training in interpreting and performing the core repertoire for voice and piano.
