הקורס מוקדש למוזיקה אשר נכתבה לכלי המקלדת של התקופה.
בין הנושאים שיועברו בקורס: כלים של התקופה - עוגב, צ'מבלו, קלאוויקורד ופסנתר פטישים. מבנה הכלי, הפקת צליל והשלכותיהם, פרקטיקת ביצוע. מלחינים, אסכולות, סגנונות וז'אנרים. תשומת-לב מיוחדת תוקדש ליצירות למקלדת של י.ס. באך.
The course will deal with a survey of solo keyboard literature from the baroque period. The main subjects are – keyboard instruments of the period – organ, cembalo, clavichord; composers, musical forms, genres and styles in Western Europe before 1750. Special attention will be devoted to keyboard music by J.S. Bach.

Course requirements: Regular attendance, listening quiz and oral exam in I and II semesters (detailed information regarding listening quiz and exam will be given on the very first lesson and will be available on the site of the course from the very beginning of the course).
Description of course
The course will deal with a survey of solo keyboard literature from the baroque period.

Grading Summary
oral exam 70% (35% in I semester and 35% in II semester)
listening quiz 30% (10% in I semester and 20% in II semester
Expected learning outcomes:
Students are supposed to get acquainted with keyboard music before 1750, to demonstrate familiarity with works, understanding of the development, genres and styles. Students also are supposed to improve ability to express themselves orally within the subject of the baroque keyboard music.
