הפיסול הבריטי במאה ה-20 נתפס כפיסול שתרם לשינויים העמוקים שעבר ענף זה של האמנות. קורס זה יתמקד במעבר מסגנונות פיגורטיביים למופשט (כולל קונסטרוקציות), בשינוי מתפיסת מהות האובייקט הפיסולי כייחודי, לשימוש ב 'רדי מייד', להנעה  קינטית, לפיסול-מקום-מרחב, ולמיצב. שינויים אלה הובילו להרחבת ההגדרה של 'פיסול' כמושג. בשיעור נתייחס לקונטקסט ההיסטורי-טכנולוגי בבריטניה ובקונטקסט הבינלאומי, חברתי  ואסתטי של הנושא, כולל התייחסות לטקסטים ביקורתיים שנכתבו על ידי פסלים ותיאורטיקנים.

British sculpture in the 20^th century has produced groundbreaking individual artists and groups who have participated in the 20^th century redefinition of 'sculpture'. In this course we will study 20^th century British sculpture within historical, social and aesthetic contexts.
