תיאור הסמינר

שאלת המקורות (מקורות היקום, מקור המין האנושי, מקור האמנות) היא אחת מהשאלות שעוררו דיון שמעטים אלו שהשתוו לו בהיקפו בהיסטוריה של מחשבת המערב, ולא רק. היכולת "לגלות" מה התרחש בנקודת זמן ראשונית ולבנות שרשרת בלתי פוסקת של אירועים עד להווה איתגרה הוגי דעות וחוקרים לאורך ההיסטוריה האנושית. במאות ה-15 וה-16 (ובמידה מסויימת בין המאות ה-14 ל-17) באיטליה (אך גם מחוץ אליה) התעורר עניין ממוקד ורב עוצמה בשאלת המקורות לאורך תחומי ידע שונים.

הסמינר שם לו למטרה לבחון את המופעים החזותיים של העניין בשאלת ה"מקור" הן דרך התעמקות בטקסטים שעסקו בכך (הטקסט המקראי, הסיודוס, אובידיוס, הקורפוס הרמטיקום שיוחס להרמס טריסמגיסטוס, בוקאצ'יו) והן דרך יצירות אמנות ובראשן מערכי פרסקאות המתארים את הבריאה אך גם יצירות המתיימרות "לברוא" מחדש את הטבע (גרוטות) או מפות המתיימרות לתאר (ובמידה מסויימת ליצור ייצוג חזותי) את העולם. לאור רוחב היריעה העבודה תתמקד בשורה של צירי התייחסות וביניהם: מקורות האנושות (בטקסטים ובדימויים), מקורות האמנות (ציור ופיסול, בטקסטים ובדימויים) שאלת ה"פוליטיקה של המקורות" (רתימת מקור למטרות שונות) והיסטוריוגרפיה של סיפורי מקור. דמויות כגון זו של מיכלאנג'לו, מעין "אמן מקור" בעיני כותבי ההיסטוריה של הרנסנס יעמדו במרכז הסמינר.

היות והשאלה עומדת בגבולות שבין האמנות, תולדות האמנות ותחומי ידע רבים נוספים (פיזיקה, ארכיאולוגיה,מקרא, תיאולוגיה) יוזמנו לסמינר שורה של מומחים מתחומים שונים כדי לנסות ולהאיר את סוגיית המקור מנקודת המבט של דיסציפלינות שונות ולהבין כיצד ניסו חוקרים מתחומים אלו להתמודד עם שאלת המקור לאורך ההיסטוריה. בין השאר אמורים להשתתף בסמינר פרופ' ישראל פינקלשטיין (החוג לארכיאולוגיה, אוניברסיטת תל אביב), פרופ' חגי נצר (מן החוג לאסטרונומיה ואסטרופיזיקה באוניברסיטת תל אביב ובמצפה הכוכבים על שם וייז ומופקד הקתדרה לאסטרונומיה חוץ-גלקטית ע"ש ז'ק אדלר, אוניברסיטת תל אביב), ד"ר נעם מזרחי (חוג למקרא באוניברסיטת תל אביב) וד"ר פלאביה בוצטה מן המרכז הלאומי ללימודים מדעיים CNRS בפאריס, מומחית לכישוף יהודי וקבלה נוצרית. בנוסף יגיעו להרצאות אורח ולשיח עם התלמידים היסטוריונים של האמנות מצרפת שעסקו בנושא, ובהם ד"ר אלינור מיארה כליף ופרופ' פיליפ מורל מהסורבון.

הסמינר ייתקיים כחצי שנה לפני כנס בינלאומי גדול בנושא שייערך בפאריס ובתל אביב בחודש יוני 2018 תחת הכותרת The Renaissance of Origins. ההשתתפות בו ועמידה במטלות אמורה לאפשר הבנה מעמיקה של הנושא הסבוך לקראת הרצאות של טובי המומחים העוסקים בנושא שייערכו הן באוניברסיטת תל אביב והן באוניברסיטת הסורבון בפאריס המארגנות יחדיו את הכינוס.

The question of origins has fascinated and provoked speculations like no other major question in the history of western thought. The possibility of revealing and illuminating what happened at the beginning of time and of reconstructing an uninterrupted chain of events relating the present to an immemorial past continues to challenge and inspire scholars. From the end of the 14th century to the beginning of the 17th century, a pronounced interest in origins emerged across multiple fields of knowledge. The 15th and 16th centuries, witnessed the revival of great fresco cycles devoted to the creation of the world, inspired by sources ranging from the bible to Hesiod’s Theogony, Ovid, Pimander (attributed to Hermes Trismegistus) and Boccaccio. Other cycles revolved around the origins of humanity and the first human beings (focusing in particular on the figure of the "wild man.”) Pictorial cycles depicting time and the interactions of the elements that reflect the life of the cosmos as well as the power of nature were incorporated into the artificial grottos and gardens of the 16th century.

The seminar will host a series of scholars from different fields, as archeologists, astronomers, historians of religious thought as well as prominent art historians from France (Elinor Miara Kelif and Philippe Morel from the Sorbonne). It will take place a few months before an international conference dedicated to the subject will be held in Paris I University and Tel Aviv University.

דרישות הקורס

עמידה במטלות קריאה מדי שבוע (בשני השלישים הראשונים של הסמסטר). חובת נוכחות. הגשת עבודה לא תתאפשר למי שלא יעמדו בחובת זו.
